Dedicated and virtual servers with Windows Server: a remote desktop, a familiar environment and full administrator rights. We install the licence, and RDP access arrives as soon as the server is handed over.

Licence and installation

Windows Server is installed with a legal licence when the server is delivered, in the edition you choose at checkout. Nothing has to be bought or activated separately — the licence cost is already in the plan.

Full administrator rights

You get an unrestricted Administrator account: install any software, change policies, configure server roles and remote desktops. Access is over RDP, and through IP-KVM if the system itself misbehaves.

Terminal access

The remote desktop service can be deployed for several users at once. Per-user terminal licences are bought separately, according to the number of seats.

What people usually run on a Windows server

Business applications

Accounting and inventory software, industry-specific tools that exist only for Windows. The server keeps them running around the clock and reachable from anywhere, with data no longer tied to one office computer.

Trading terminals

MetaTrader, trading robots and advisers need continuous uptime and a stable connection. On a server they no longer depend on your home internet or power, and latency to the exchange is lower than from a desktop.

Remote workplaces

A shared environment for staff: everyone connects over RDP to their own profile while files and programs stay on the server. Useful for distributed teams or for several people working with one database.

Emulators and automation

Android emulators, scrapers, bots and anything that needs an always-on machine with a graphical desktop. For emulators it is worth looking at configurations with a discrete graphics card.

What to consider when renting a Windows server

Windows needs more memory

The system with its graphical interface takes several gigabytes of RAM before your own programs even start. For comfortable work, take about twice the memory you would allow for the same task on Linux.

Choose a fast disk

System updates, antivirus and several users working at once keep the drive constantly busy. On SATA that shows up as interface lag, which is why Windows servers usually run on SSD or NVMe.

Delivery takes longer

Installing Windows takes longer than deploying Linux from a prepared image: the system is installed, updated and the licence activated. Expect a Windows server to be ready later than a comparable Linux one.

About terminal licences

The remote desktop role works without licences only in a time-limited trial mode. If several employees will connect permanently, RDS user licences are required — write to support and we will advise on the count.

Frequently asked questions about Windows servers

Is the Windows licence included in the price?

Yes, the Windows Server licence is already part of the plan price — nothing has to be bought or activated separately. Only RDS user licences are paid for separately, if you deploy a terminal server for several employees.

How does the trial-key edition differ from the regular one?

Technically it is the same system, activated with a 180-day key. People take it to verify their software before buying a permanent licence. When the period ends the system has to move to a full licence — write to support before it expires.

Can I deploy a terminal server for several users?

Yes, the remote desktop role installs on any Windows configuration. Without licences it runs in a time-limited trial mode, so permanent use by several employees requires RDS user licences — added at checkout or later through support.

What if the server stops responding over RDP?

That is what IP-KVM is for: access to the server’s screen and keyboard bypassing the operating system. Through it you can see what is on screen, log in, reboot cleanly or enter the BIOS. The connection is available from the client panel.

Can Windows be swapped for Linux and back?

Yes, the system is reinstalled on request. Note that reinstallation wipes all data on the disks, so back up in advance. If the plan changes along with the system, check the price difference with support.
