Every server is assembled individually: CPU, memory, drive set, RAID, port speed and IP count are picked right in the configurator. The build can also be changed later as the project grows.

DataDock data center

Every server sits in DataDock — a Tier III+ facility in Naaldwijk, the Netherlands. 2N redundancy for power and cooling, ISO 9001, ISO/IEC 27001 and ISO 14001 certification and a PUE of 1.15.

Up to 10 Gbit/s

A backbone of more than 10 Tbit/s built on Arista hardware, direct peering with NL-ix and a 99.99% network uptime SLA. The port is dedicated, guaranteed and full-duplex.

Permanent IP-KVM

iDRAC or iRMC access comes with the server: console, ISO mounting and reboots without contacting support.

Unmetered traffic

Most ports come with unmetered traffic; where a package is selected, its volume is stated in the plan and the speed is never throttled.

IP addresses

Up to 6 IPv4 addresses are chosen in the configurator, more on justified request. IPv6 is fully supported by the network.

Private network between servers

Several of your servers can be joined into a private segment at 1 or 10 Gbit/s, and traffic inside it is not charged.

Hardware replacement

A failed drive, memory module or power supply is replaced by data center engineers at our expense.

Upgrade and downgrade

A server in the Netherlands can be reconfigured later — add drives and memory or move to another platform.

Operating systems and panels

The OS is installed automatically at delivery and access is granted with full root or administrator rights. The system can be reinstalled at any time from the client area.

Windows Server is available in the Standard edition, including a 180-day TRIAL key for testing. Terminal scenarios require separately purchased RDS licenses. Control panels install on Linux systems only and the option is hidden in the configurator when Windows is selected.

Why projects choose the Netherlands

Amsterdam is one of the three points the European internet runs through: it hosts AMS-IX, the largest exchange in the world, and NL-ix, with which our network peers directly. In practice that means a short route and low latency to Germany, France, the UK and Scandinavia, plus predictable latency to Eastern Europe and the US.

The second reason is the hardware itself. The Netherlands holds our widest fleet of platforms: single-socket Dell PowerEdge and Fujitsu PRIMERGY for websites and small services, dual-socket Xeon Gold and EPYC for databases and virtualization, and quad-socket Xeon Platinum machines for heavy computation and large Proxmox nodes.

All servers in the Netherlands are hosted in DataDock — a Tier III+ facility in Naaldwijk with its own backbone network, certified to ISO 9001, ISO/IEC 27001 and ISO 14001.

Every switch is connected to several independent uplinks, so a single failure is absorbed by redundancy with almost no delay for the client. That design is what keeps the network at the stated 99.99% SLA rather than at a yearly average.

Which server fits your workload

Websites, online stores, APIs

A single-socket Xeon E or Ryzen with 32–64 GB of memory and a mirrored pair of NVMe drives. Such a server confidently handles a busy store or dozens of websites and costs less than cloud capacity of the same power.

Databases

Here clock speed and drives matter more than core count: a high-frequency Xeon Gold or EPYC, 128 GB of memory and up, and Enterprise NVMe. A RAID controller with BBU is available as an option.

Virtualization and Proxmox

Dual- and quad-socket platforms with up to 96 cores and 1024 GB of ECC memory. Proxmox VE is installed at delivery, and several nodes can be joined into a private 10 Gbit/s network.

Storage and backups

Frequently asked questions about servers in the Netherlands

How fast is a server in the Netherlands delivered?

Standard builds are ready within the business day, with 24 hours after payment as the maximum. If the configuration is rare and components have to be ordered, a manager states the exact deadline before payment.

Is there a setup fee?

No. None of the plans in the Netherlands carry a setup fee: you only pay the monthly rental of the chosen configuration.

Can the configuration be changed after ordering?

Yes. Servers in the Netherlands support both upgrade and downgrade: drives can be added or replaced, memory increased, port speed changed. The work is done in an agreed window and the server reboots briefly.

What port speed and how much traffic is included?

Port speed is chosen in the configurator, from 100 Mbit/s to 10 Gbit/s, and the port is dedicated and full-duplex. Most options come with unmetered traffic; if a package is selected, its volume is stated in the port name and the speed is not throttled once it runs out — the extra traffic is billed separately.

Do you help with server and software setup?

We are responsible for the hardware, the network and delivering the server with the OS installed, and we respond quickly to any infrastructure question. We do not configure software inside the operating system or provide administration — the server comes with full root or administrator access, and everything inside it is set up by you or your own specialist.

Can several servers be joined into one network?

Yes, it is a separate option in the configurator: your servers are connected into a private segment at 1 or 10 Gbit/s. Traffic inside that network is not charged, which suits database clusters, backups and frontend-to-storage links.
