When renting a dedicated server from us, a client can order a server configuration with a KVM device. In many plans it is already included in the price, while in others it can either be connected for a few hours free of charge or purchased on a permanent basis.
This device can be basic or advanced. KVM allows you to manage the server at the hardware level, watch the boot process starting from the BIOS, and so on.
Access is via a web address using a login/password. All this information is provided together with the server.

Why KVM is needed on dedicated servers
With advanced KVM devices, the user can:
- Install or reinstall the operating system from their own .iso image;
- Manage the server and OS starting from the BIOS and change settings;
- See the status of the processor, memory, power supply, disks and their serial numbers;
- See the status of and manage the hardware RAID controller;
- Watch the entire operating system boot process.
With basic KVM devices, the user can only watch the OS boot process, fix problems if needed, and press certain key combinations.
Depending on the server hardware vendor, KVM devices have different names:

Most of our servers come with a KVM device included in the server package. If you have serious projects, we strongly recommend renting dedicated servers with this particular option. In the future, this will let you resolve any problem (should one arise) with the operating system or the hardware itself as quickly as possible.
